Al llegar a Silicon Valley, Shane recibió las pruebas por primera vez en 2019. A pesar de haber estado amputado durante la mayor parte de su vida y de estar preocupado por posibles daños en el pie, le aseguramos nuestro apoyo. Apenas dos semanas después de su prueba, estaba escalando rocas en nuestro evento Planet Granite en Belmont y no ha vuelto a mirar atrás desde entonces.
De Shane, abril de 2021, "Empecé a viajar con mochila durante Covid. Caminé por Yosemite (dos veces), el Gran Cañón, el sendero Lost Coast Trail, entre muchos otros con esta etapa. Creo que el mayor problema que tuve con el mantenimiento de los pies Fue cuando pasé 5 semanas en Hawaii. No toda la arena era buena para el desgaste. ¡Esta ha sido la mejor pierna que he tenido!
